Obituary for Sheila Cunningham

On the 14th of May, 2019, Sheila Dorothy Cunningham (Née Flett) passed peacefully in her room at Allendale Long Term Care Facility (Milton, Ontario), with family at her side.

She is predeceased by her husband, James William Cunningham, daughter Joanne, and brother Thomas Flett. She is survived by two daughters, Geraldine and Heather and by her son James; Grandchildren Douglas, Margery, Lindsay (Joey), James (Stephanie); Great-Grandchildren Connor, Nicholas and Aurora; Sister-in-Law Joan and Nephew Stephen; and Son-in-Law Donald.

Sheila was selflessly and steadfastly devoted to her family, friends and community and used her many talents, in thoughtful and mindful ways, to give joy, comfort, support and affirmation to those around her. She was an example of how to live with dignity, integrity, humility and faith and how to approach life with curiosity, creativity and a sense of adventure. She was a true blessing and will be greatly missed.

In keeping with Sheila’s belief in Christian fellowship and mission and her love and support of animals of all shapes and sizes, those who wish may make a donation to either The Oakville & Milton Humane Society (www.omhs.ca), or Erindale Presbyterian Church (www.erindalepc.com), in lieu of flowers or other consideration.

A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at Erindale Presbyterian Church at 1:00 pm on Friday, 24 May 2019.
