The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Hugh Beaty can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Joy Kimberly
Condolence: We had the pleasure of having Hugh as our landlord between January 2003 to March 2009. During that time, we were treated very well. Hugh was always very sweet and helpful. I enjoyed our conversations and returned to visit a number of times after I moved away just to say hello while I was in town to see my doctor. He was such a remarkable man who left a legacy of love and care for people around the world. Thank you Hugh, for your kindness and generosity.

To the family:

I would love to share a few lovely photos of Hugh and the home on 4th Line during our stay there. It was and still is the most beautiful home I've ever lived in. I don't think I'll ever find another place to live quite as wonderful. Please feel free to contact me if you'd like me to share these with you.

Condolence: I had the pleasure of meeting Hugh this past January. I introduced myself as his first cousin (2x removed) and he graciously invited me to his house. We spent a few short hours reminiscing about my grandmother and his work with SHARE. I wish I had met him sooner but feel blessed to have had meeting him. My condolences to Judy and all his family.

Condolence: I had the pleasure of working with Hugh for 10 years when he volunteered with the Canadian Red Cross driving folks to Medical Appointments. He always found time for others and was the kindest most gentle soul. He will be missed by many. Rest in Peace Hugh. Jacqui Stokes

Condolence: To the Beaty Family: Hugh was my inspiration and mentor in conducting the project management duties for SHARE -- ever since he 'retired' from those duties in 1991. He taught me how to look at projects from the point of view of the recipients--and many times used the words 'mothers and children' to communicate his thoughts. For me, Hugh's voice and choice of words signaled his love for the human spirit. He was the 'best of the best'

Condolence From: Alan Waters
Condolence: For Hugh's family; Please accept my sincere condolences in the loss of your head of the family whom I had known for a long time due to my association with him during my tenure as Peoples' Warden of Grace Anglican church now many years ago. I visited his and Melba's home on many occasions over the years when the family home was on the 4th line, and I find it extremely sad, that the 4th line, like the rest of the old Milton areas that those of us knew and loved so well is no more. Hugh is probably one of the last, if not the last, of the originals from the 4th line who farmed along with his old neighbours also mostly gone. Hugh lived a good life and a long one, and will always be remembered by his old friends and acquaintances still left, who are now few and far between. Most sincerely Alan Waters

Condolence: It is with profound sadness that we heard of Hugh's passing at the Oakville Community Foundation. Hugh has been the epitome of a philanthropic soul, humbly speaking to the pleasure it gave him to share with those causes and people that were so important to him.
I feel so incredibly fortunate to have met this man and to have shared but a fragment of his long- and well-lived life. He is an inspiration to me, and to so many, and will not soon be forgotten.
May he rest in peace having given this world his heart, his service and his unforgettable laugh. My sincerest condolences to Bob, Marilyn, Judy, and your extended families.
